THE NEW NORMAL
After twelve years in Christian music supergroup - Newsboys, this new melodic rock cd is indicative of his roots as his impassioned lyrics and signature vocals are wrapped in carefully crafted pop tunes.

PHIL JOEL

Since re-locating from his homeland of New Zealand 15 years ago, Phil Joel has become a mainstay in Christian music.  First with his role as bass player and vocalist for Newsboys, until more recently stepping out on his own as a solo artist. For those who are unfamiliar with his work, one thing you can be sure of - Phil Joel is committed to delivering great music that packs an authentic, message-filled punch.

“We are facing challenges today that we’ve never faced before, the word relationship is being re-defined and, as Christians, we’ve got to realize that the truth and beauty of having an authentic relationship with God and with one another is fast becoming seen as an old fashioned irrelevant ideal. Nothing is further from the truth, a real relationship with God is available and must be pursued if we are hoping to walk this life out in the peace that transcends the crazy logic of our times.”

With the release of his fifth solo album “THE NEW NORMAL” Phil takes on what we have come to consider normal in culture - even in our church culture. His heart for authentic relationship with the Lord shines through in his lyrics and his passion to encourage men and women to re-engage in their walk with the Lord and to make Jesus central in their lives is inspiring.

In 2005, Phil and his wife Heather launched deliberatePeople., a ministry with a heart is to see people re-engage in their one-on-one relationship with the Lord; confident that when that relationship is growing and thriving, it will reach into every other relationship we are a part of (marriage, parenting, family, friendships, etc...)

As Phil closes out the FFN events he will be performing songs from his solo records, Newsboys favorites, deliberateKids, as well as presenting “twenty one”: a challenge encouraging men and women to pursue the Lord individually and as a marriage team, thus impacting the foundation of their families.
